After Effects Tutorial: Export for Instagram

 Instagram has become a popular platform for sharing videos and motion graphics. To ensure your After Effects projects look their best on Instagram, it’s essential to export them using the correct settings. This tutorial will guide you through the process of exporting your After Effects projects specifically for Instagram.

Step 1: Create a New Composition

In After Effects, open the project containing the composition you want to export for Instagram. If you haven’t already, create a new composition that meets Instagram’s video specifications. Instagram recommends using a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1080 pixels for square videos and 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels for landscape videos. Click on the Output File field and enter the desired location and filename for your exported video. Make sure the file extension is set to .mp4.

Step 6: Start the Export

Click the green Queue button at the bottom of the Adobe Media Encoder window. This will start the export process. The export time will depend on the length of your video and the complexity of your effects.

Step 7: Upload to Instagram

Once the export is complete, you can upload the video to Instagram. Go to the Instagram app on your mobile device and tap the + button. Select Video from the options and choose the exported video file. Add a caption and other details, and then tap Share to publish your video on Instagram.
