Premiere Pro Tutorial : Change the look of your clips

 Adobe Premiere Pro is a powerful video editing software that allows you to create professional-looking videos. One of the most important aspects of video editing is color correction, which is the process of adjusting the colors in your clips to create a specific look and feel.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to change the look of your clips in Premiere Pro using the Lumetri Color panel. The Lumetri Color panel is a powerful tool that allows you to make precise adjustments to the colors in your clips.

Step 1: Open the Lumetri Color panel

To open the Lumetri Color panel, go to Window > Workspaces > Color.

Step 2: Select the clip you want to adjust

In the Timeline panel, select the clip you want to adjust. The clip will appear in the Source Monitor panel.

Step 3: Make adjustments to the Lumetri Color panel

The Lumetri Color panel is divided into several sections, each of which controls a different aspect of color correction.

The Basic Correction section allows you to adjust the overall exposure, contrast, and saturation of the clip.

The Creative section allows you to make more creative adjustments, such as changing the hue, vibrance, and temperature of the clip.

Using Looks to Change the Look of Your Clips

Premiere Pro comes with a variety of built-in Looks, which are color presets that you can apply to your clips to create a specific look and feel. To apply a Look to a clip, simply select the Look from the Look drop-down menu in the Lumetri Color panel.

You can also browse Looks by clicking the Looks Preset Thumbnail viewer (>) in the Lumetri Color panel.

Once you have applied a Look to a clip, you can still make further adjustments to the colors in the Lumetri Color panel.

Tips for Changing the Look of Your Clips

Here are a few tips for changing the look of your clips in Premiere Pro:

  • Use the Basic Correction section to adjust the overall exposure, contrast, and saturation of your clips.
  • Use the Creative section to make more creative adjustments, such as changing the hue, vibrance, and temperature of your clips.
