Premiere Pro Tutorial : Make Natural Color Adjustments

Natural color adjustments are a great way to improve the look of your videos in Premiere Pro. By making subtle adjustments to the colors in your footage, you can create a more realistic and engaging look.

There are a few different ways to make natural color adjustments in Premiere Pro. One way is to use the Lumetri Color panel. The Lumetri Color panel is a powerful tool that gives you control over all aspects of the color in your footage.

To use the Lumetri Color panel to make natural color adjustments, follow these steps:

  1. Select the clip that you want to adjust.
  2. Open the Lumetri Color panel by clicking on the Color tab in the Effects panel.
  3. In the Lumetri Color panel, start by adjusting the Basic Correction settings. These settings control the overall brightness, contrast, and saturation of your footage.
  4. Once you are happy with the Basic Correction settings, you can start to make more specific color adjustments. For example, you can use the Hue/Saturation curves to adjust individual colors in your footage.
  5. You can also use the Color Wheels to adjust the hue, saturation, and luminance of different areas of your footage.
  6. Once you are happy with your color adjustments, click the Save button to apply the changes.

Another way to make natural color adjustments in Premiere Pro is to use the Color Presets. The Color Presets are a collection of pre-made color adjustments that you can apply to your footage.

To use the Color Presets, follow these steps:

  1. Select the clip that you want to adjust.
  2. Click on the Browse button in the Lumetri Color panel.
  3. In the Browse window, navigate to the Color Presets folder.
  4. Select the color preset that you want to apply to your footage.
  5. Click the Apply button to apply the color preset.

You can also combine the Lumetri Color panel and the Color Presets to create your own custom color adjustments. For example, you could start by applying a Color Preset to your footage and then make fine adjustments using the Lumetri Color panel.

Here are a few tips for making natural color adjustments in Premiere Pro:

  • Use a reference monitor. A reference monitor is a calibrated monitor that will show you the true colors in your footage. This is important because it will help you to make accurate color adjustments.
  • Don’t overdo it. It’s important to make subtle color adjustments. Overdoing it can make your footage look unnatural.
  • Use your eyes. The best way to know if you’re making good color adjustments is to use your eyes. If the footage looks good to you, then it’s good.

By following these tips, you can learn how to make natural color adjustments in Premiere Pro and create stunning videos with realistic colors.
