What is Ctrl + Shift + D in Premiere Pro?

Ctrl + Shift + D (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + D (Mac) is the keyboard shortcut for “Apply Audio Transition” in Adobe Premiere Pro. This shortcut is used to apply an audio transition to the selected audio clips.

An audio transition is a smooth transition between two audio clips. It can be used to fade in or out an audio clip, crossfade between two audio clips, or add other effects.

To use this shortcut, simply select the audio clips you want to apply the transition to and then press Ctrl + Shift + D.

The Audio Transition window will appear. In this window, you can select the type of audio transition you want to apply and the duration of the transition.

Here are some of the different types of audio transitions you can apply:

  • Fade in/out: This transition fades the audio in or out over a specified duration.
  • Crossfade: This transition crossfades between two audio clips over a specified duration.
  • Ducking: This transition ducks the volume of one audio clip while another audio clip is playing.
  • EQ Match: This transition matches the equalization of two audio clips.
  • Reverb Match: This transition matches the reverb of two audio clips.
  • Time Stretch: This transition stretches or compresses the time of an audio clip to match the duration of another audio clip.
  • Pitch Shift: This transition shifts the pitch of an audio clip to match the pitch of another audio clip.

Once you have selected the type of audio transition you want to apply and the duration of the transition, click the “Apply” button. The transition will be applied to the selected audio clips.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when using this shortcut:

  • If you have not selected any audio clips, the shortcut will have no effect.
  • If you have selected some audio clips but not all of them, the transition will only be applied to the selected audio clips.
  • If you have already applied an audio transition to the selected audio clips, the shortcut will not apply another audio transition.
